Louise K. Stevens. Published by the Arts Extension Service. 2000, fifth printing.
As early as 1986 the National Endowment for the Arts cited “cultural planning skills” as a high priority for local arts organizations. Large cities can afford to hire consultants and planners, but small cities and rural communities don’t have the same access to time, money and other important resources. The Arts Extension Service proudly responded to this need and two work kits Conducting a Community Cultural Assessment: A Work Kit, Volume I and Developing a Strategic Cultural Plan: A Work Kit, Volume II were created. In Conducting a Community Cultural Assessment: A Work Kit, Volume I, you will go through a 3 Phase process to help you collect data and opinions, develop a summary profile, and draw conclusions and develop recommendations.
